PTCL and Telenor Top Customer Complaints in PTA’s 2017 Survey

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has received 10,237 complaints from telecom consumers against the different telecom operators (including cellular operators, PTCL, LDIs, WLL operators and ISPs) during April-June 2017.

According to data available with ProPakistani, PTCL leads the chart with 3,121 complaints received during the April-June period. Telenor stands at the second position as a telecom operator with 2,095 complaints lodged during the same period.

PTA said that it was able to get 96.04 percent of the complaints resolved.

In terms of the segregation of complaints by individual operators, a total of 2095 complaints were received against Telenor which is 30% of the total cellular mobile operator (CMO) related complaints.

Cellular mobile subscribers constitute a major part of the overall telecom subscriber base, therefore, the maximum number of complaints belong to this segment. Total number of complaints against CMOs during April-June 2017 stood at 7,002.

Mobilink, which has the largest number of consumers, was second with 1889 i.e. 27% of the complaints were received against it.

Zong stood third with 1432 complaints i.e. with 20% of the total complaints.

Ufone had 9969 complaints against its various services which make up 14% of the total CMO related complaints, followed by Warid with 617 i.e. 8.8% complaints.
