As an industry first, HBL has launched an open API, allowing its 10 Million bank account holders to instantly purchase movie, bus and event tickets from EasyTickets.pk.
HBL customers can now securely pull funds from their bank accounts online at the time of checkout directly on EasyTickets. They do not need any card or special account configuration – all HBL account holders can benefit from this integration without any additional hassle.
This bold and landmark initiative marks the first time ever in Pakistan that a bank has opened payment API access to third party e-commerce sites for payment processing. In its early pilot phase, HBL account pull payments have already become one of the most popular payment types on EasyTickets. Payments are instantly processed by customers entering their bank account number and securely authenticating at the time of checkout.
Abrar Mir, Chief Innovation Officer at HBL said, “We are delighted to pilot our e-commerce payments pull API with Pakistan’s leading online ticketing app. This integration with Easytickets is part of a larger initiative by HBL to provide even more benefits and connectivity to our 10 Million customers through our Open API platform.”

The EasyTickets app can be downloaded from the Google Playstore, Apple App Store. It allows real-time seat selection and paperless e-ticket purchase for 20 leading cinemas across 10 cities, Daewoo buses and local events directly while using a smartphone.

Misleading title. I was expecting more about the API itself, but this post merely discusses one implementation of it. As a developer, I am eagerly waiting for Pakistani banks to create and allow access to public APIs.

cheap publicity, there is nothing like API hbl offering. Open api should be open for every customer, not for only hbl account holder.
