Red Dead Redemption 2 Gets Delayed to October This Year

Rockstar Games is spilling the beans about its most-anticipated release of the year, Red Dead Redemption 2.

According to a new update, the game is set to be released on October 26th of this year, roughly ten months from now.

The game will be hitting the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC release yet.

Delayed Once

As some of you would’ve noticed, this release date is quite a delay from what was announced earlier, the Spring of 2018. Unfortunately, the game won’t be available until fall now.

Rockstar Games apologized for this in their statement:

We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish. We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it.

PC Please?

Rockstar is also mum on the PC version’s future. It hasn’t announced if it even has plans for a Windows release, and ardent fans of the series will remember that 2010’s Red Dead Redemption didn’t.

However, don’t rule out the possibility just yet.

The PC version of GTA V was released almost a year-and-a-half after the initial release, and half-a-year after PS4 and Xbox One. For GTA V, Rockstar didn’t say anything for PC users either, right until a few months before the PC version’s release.

New Screenshots

At least, Rockstar took the time out to release a few new screenshots to appease the fans.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has you play as Arthur Morgan, an outlaw belonging to the Dutch van der Linde gang. The game is set in a Western backdrop, which is one of the series’ unique aspects.

Hopefully, as with some of the Rockstar’s previous releases, including Grand Theft Auto V, the game won’t be delayed any further as the release date nears. Watch this space for any developments.
