Harry Kane Breaks Ronaldinho & Drogba’s Champions League Record

Harry Kane has registered his name in the Champions League history books with his crucial goal in a 2-2 draw at Juventus on Tuesday night.

Kane scored his 9th Champions League goal in as many appearances, which is one better than the previous record in nine games — shared by Ronaldinho, Simone Inzaghi, Didier Drogba and Diego Costa.

The Tottenham forward has managed 7 of those goals this season, matching Steven Gerrard’s most goals scored by an Englishman in a single campaign.

Harry Kane and Ronaldo

Kane is currently has 7 goals in CL, 2 behind top-scorer Ronaldo.

Tottenham did not have a good start as the team conceded 2 goals in the space of nine minutes. However, showing character, the Pochettinho men got back in the game thanks to two great goals.

Spurs became the first team to overturn a two-goal deficit in an away knockout round match to earn at least a draw since Chelsea won 3-2 at Barcelona in the semifinals in 2012.

Eriksen, who managed to score from a free kick for the first time the last two seasons, claimed that he fancies Tottenham in the 2nd leg as well.

We are sure we will have chances at Wembley. We go into that game full of confidence and we’re looking forward to it, Eriksen added.

I want to congratulate the players, 2-0 down in Turin to a team so difficult to break down. We deserved a victory more than a draw.

He added that in the past two weeks, Spurs has shown incredible maturity and there is definite growth in the team.

The team was amazing in how they reacted. You need some luck always in football. The tie is open, Juventus are a massive team. We have the hope we can win in Wembley.
