People Are Selling Non-Custom Paid Cars Publicly & FIA, Customs Aren’t Stopping Them

Social media is being extensively used by businessmen to reach out to their customers, especially on Facebook. You often see proper brands and businesses selling their products & services over social media in a legitimate way. However, Facebook is also being used to bypass normal, legal channels when it comes to selling products.

One of these activities is the open advertisement and sale of non-custom paid vehicles, which are smuggled across the borders, by using the Facebook platform. These individuals also offer “customer service”, and even deliver these vehicles to the buyers.

Apparently, these advertisers are running free as the Pakistani authorities have failed to abolish this practice. The social media is full of such suppliers, some even provide their phone numbers in public posts that should be more than easy to trace for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

These pages also use other channels such as online advertising platforms for cars and have managed to establish connections and decent viewership to continue their “businesses”. As seen in the post, they also use WhatsApp to talk to their customers.

“Whenever the cybercrime unit gets a complaint, the agency reacts, investigate and take legal action, whatsoever is required,” – Syed Shahid Hassan, Deputy Director of Cybercrime

Such vehicles can easily be used in criminal activities or terrorist attacks or other illegal activities, due to their expendable nature and cheap costs. The traffickers move these vehicles from the borders, and drive them across the country to deliver them to the customer.

Its still unclear how their payments are processed, this is likely done on a “cash-on delivery” basis using cold hard cash.
