Yawar Yasin and Ch. Ali Asghar have been elevated to Member Technical and Member Compliance and Enforcement at Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, we have checked.
This decision was made during a Cabinet Meeting at Prime Minister Office under the headship of care-taker Prime Minister earlier today.
For those who don’t know, PTA is comprised of three members, namely: Technical, Finance and Compliance. One member out of these is appointed as the Chairman of the authority.
Mr. Muhammad Naveed, who was hired as Member Finance, is currently the Chairman of the authority.
Slots for Members of PTA were vacated after Dr. Ismail Shah, Mr. Tariq Sultan and Mr. Abdul Samad completed their respective tenures.
Both Mr. Yawar Yasin and Ch. Ali Asghar are long-time and seasoned PTA officials who were serving as DGs of their respective departments before today’s appointments.
