The Education Department has decided to ban summer camps in schools from July 1 due to rising temperatures and ongoing heatwave conditions.
According to an official notification, educational institutions were allowed to conduct summer camps only until June 30. From July 1 onwards, all schools must suspend summer camp activities to protect students from extreme heat.
The department warned that schools violating the directive will face strict action, including heavy fines and possible cancellation of their licenses.
Education authorities have instructed district officials to inform all schools about the new orders and ensure full compliance.
Inspection teams will begin visiting schools on July 1 to monitor implementation and take immediate action against institutions operating summer camps without approval.
Officials said the decision aims to safeguard students’ health as temperatures remain dangerously high across several parts of the country.
Meanwhile, parents have also encouraged students to use their summer vacation to complete holiday homework and stay indoors during peak daytime hours.
