New Details: Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 is Splash Resistant & Quick Charge 4 Enabled

Pocophone F1 has been confirmed to come with Quick Charge 4.0 (QC 4) and splash resistance, as revealed by Poco India on its official Twitter account.

Pocophone is Xiaomi’s sub brand, with its F1 phone supposedly being the latest flagship killer brand in the market after OnePlus. Pocophone F1 has flagship grade features including a Snapdragon 845 and 6 or 8 GB RAM, but at a really low price.

Now, the company also revealed additional specifications, such as QC 4 support and certified splash resistance, that simply add more value to the phone.

Quick Charge 4 in a Budget Flagship

Previously, we expected it to come with Quick Charge 3 instead, as Xiaomi’s official listing on its website for the phone did not mention QC 4. Its charger was also expected to support QC 3 standards. Now, a few weeks after its announcement, Xiaomi is slowly revealing more and more details, and says that the Poco F1 will support the latest fast charging tech by Qualcomm.

Other than that, it will also come with splash resistance, another good news for those who were planning to get a Pocophone F1. It does not mean that it will be able to survive long dips in water, as its not exactly water proof. It’s P2i certified – that tests waterproofing via a nano-coating process – meaning it will only withstand minor daily spills or rain.

These features are great news, and will definitely improve the phone’s value ahead of its launch. However, the F1 has already caused quite a bit of hype due to its Snapdragon 845 chipset, and overall hardware, so it’ll perform just as good as any flagship at a significantly lower price.

The phone is also scheduled to arrive in Pakistan. We can’t say anything about how much it will cost here, there’s no fixed release date either, so you might have to wait some time for it to arrive.

In the meantime, check out how the Pocophone F1 fared in a gruesome durability test.
