Nokia 7.1 is an Android One Midranger With an HDR Bezelless Display

HMD Global is back with a new Nokia phone for the masses. Nokia 7.1 promises to bring high-end features to the mid-range market, namely a great display and design, alongside respectable everyday performance.

Design and Display

The design is elevated with a 6000-series unibody aluminum frame with glass on the back. It will be available in Midnight Blue, Copper and Steel variants, while the notch gives it a touch of premium.

The best bit is the display itself. It is a 5.84-inch IPS panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution.

More importantly, it is a PureDisplay display with PixelWorks chip, which allows it to show HDR10 content, as well as upscale SDR to HDR for a better everyday experience. We have to see it in action to know how well it works.

Internals and Storage

Under the hood, you get an octa-core Snapdragon 636 with eight Kryo cores, which is still not Qualcomm’s best mid-range processor. You get either 3 or 4 GB RAM, with 32 or 64 GB of expandable storage (courtesy of a hybrid slot).

For connectivity, you get USB-C, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi ac, NFC, and LTE. The phone is part of Android One, so the Android 9.0 Pie upgrade is virtually guaranteed.

Camera(s)

At the back sits a 12 MP + 5 MP camera setup, with the latter being a depth sensor for bokeh effect photos. The front camera is 8 MP, and both the rear and front shooters can combine to form “Bothies” showing both the front and the back view in a single picture.

Battery

The battery capacity is 3060 mAh, with fast-charging also on-board.

Pricing is set at $349, with availability promised in the latter half of October.

why notch if you have plenty of space at the bottom!!!
notch is design for full display only because dont have space for camera and light sensor etc,
look at this notch, slow clap for design
