After a failing performance with the bat, Sarfraz Ahmed, has upheld his reputation by setting a new wicket-keeping record during the final Test match against South Africa on Sunday.
Sarfraz Ahmed took 10 catches in the on-going Test match and surpassed Australia’s Adam Gilchrist and former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, to become the only wicket-keeper captain to reach this feat.
Additionally, the Pakistani skipper has also made another record; taking 5 catches in each innings of a Test match.
His 10 catches in a Test match is one better than the record previously shared by Kamran Akmal and Rashid Latif.
Here’s how the record-list currently stands:
Total Catches | Wicket-Keeper Captain | Opposition | Year |
---|---|---|---|
10 | Sarfraz Ahmed | South Africa | 2019 |
8 | Alex Stewart | South Africa | 1998 |
8 | Adam Gilchrist | Sri Lanka | 2004 |
8 | MS Dhoni | Australia | 2014 |
Great Captain Long Life :
South Africa wins the match and the series. Thanks to ‘great captain’. How many losses have we suffered?
It’s Not Fault By Captain, Have you seen Ball By Ball Match ? Batsman Area Failed to Add 50 Runs in this series: Bowler cannot throw the ball up to 140Kph ? It;s time to hire some professional crickets in test like Fawad, Rizwan Any Many Other Etc. U Do Not Have Any Man to take Captain Charge.
A ‘great’ captain produces great results with any given team. This captain is neither inspiring nor performing. By watching ball by ball match will not prove anything. Results matter.
Personal record in a losing match. Captaincy days are numbered.
