Following a triumphant Test series against Pakistan, South Africa have made two major changes to their ODI series squad. The Proteas have decided to rest Dale Steyn and Quinton de Kock for the opening 2 ODIs of the series.
The series starts from 19th January at Port Elizabeth and South African board has called up Duanne Olivier and Aiden Markram in place of the rested players.
Olivier, yet to make his ODI debut, delivered some remarkable performances in the Test series and picked up 24 wickets in the three matches against Pakistan. He was the highest wicket-taker of the series and has now been called up to make his debut with the white ball as well.
According to the official news, Heinrich Klaasen will keep the wickets in de Kock’s absence.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Amir and wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan are both making a comeback as they have been named in Pakistan’s 16-man squad against South Africa.
