Pakistan’s first free Rehabilitation Center in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is yet to receive a patient for the treatment of meth addiction.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) inaugurated the facility last month on 28th, and it has not received a single patient so far.
The project of Peshawar’s district government remained non-functional for at least a week due to the absence of doctors and the supporting staff.
However, after a week of closure, the district government appointed three doctors the rehab facility which offers free diagnosis, treatment along with free boarding, lodging food and clothing for addiction victims.

At the time of inauguration, the CM Mahmood said that the rehab center is equipped with all the latest facilities under a single roof. It has a hundred beds and a pharmacy for the provision of free medicines as well.
The PTI government has set up the first-ever ice rehabilitation center in the province providing free food, lodging, and rehabilitation for addicts of the crystal-meth along with providing them training facilities to make them useful citizens of society.
