Careem Partners with Police to Highlight Importance of Road Safety

To highlight the importance of road safety, Careem in collaboration with the Traffic Police initiated a campaign of distributing free helmets to motorcyclists in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

According to Motorway Police, around 15000 people die annually in Pakistan and 50 percent of the accidents are of bike riders, which could have been avoided with the use of helmets.

Head injuries prove to be a major cause of fatalities and often pose a serious threat to those who ride on the pillion seat, increasing the chances of injuries. According to research by the World Health Organization, lack or inappropriate use of helmets has shown to increase the risk of casualties and physical impairment resulting from road crashes involving motorized two-wheelers. Non-helmeted motorcyclists are three times more likely to sustain head injuries in a crash compared to those wearing helmets.

According to the Motor Vehicle Ordinance of 1965, our law clearly states diligent instructions towards wearing a helmet for both the motorcyclist and the one riding the pillion seat. Despite this, a very non-serious attitude is observed on the roads pertaining to the safety of riders.

The initiative of Careem Pakistan in partnership with the authorities is to bring about awareness amongst motorcyclists to ensure that safety is highly instrumental while riding.

Junaid Iqbal, Managing Director, Careem Pakistan commented:

We take pride in partnering with the government to highlight that at all costs, “Safety comes First”. We must ensure it by taking all proper steps including wearing helmets while riding on the roads. Since, lives are precious, we must not lose them due to negligence.

Muhammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan, Inspector General of Police in Islamabad said:

We are thankful to Careem Pakistan for realizing the importance of safety and partnering with us in raising awareness about the importance of wearing helmets while riding.

Careem Takes Safety Seriously!

Careem has always put the safety of its customers first, which is the main reason behind a number of initiatives the company has launched in recent times.

Let’s take a look at these initiatives one by one:

Call Masking

Not everyone wants their phone number to be public. To address this issue, Careem started the Call Masking initiative. This enabled not only the customers but also the captains to hide their personal numbers.

Track My Ride

To make the customers feel more secure, Careem introduced the option of sending their live location to their friends and family. This eliminated a lot of factors which previously held some people back from availing the car-hailing service.

In-Ride Insurance

Careem stands with its valued customers and captain. How, you might ask? Well, Careem offers insurance to its customers and captains while they are availing the service. In case anything bad happens, Careem has you covered!

24/7 In-Ride Helpline

Last but not the least, the customers and the captains have Careem’s customer support available all the time. Irrespective of whether its day or night, they can contact Careem’s helpline which is open 24/7.

  • Totally lie .there is no insurance providing to captain.it is just advertised .careem has no importance for captain.they are caring for their clients.careem just note complain of captains and forget.their account system is not good.when there is a single rupee on captain account they block account.careem should close their account on sunday morning 4.59am.but they are asking untill monday night for payment and warning for blocking which showing they are cheating.

    • As for customers, Careem helpline can not be reached until you have booked the ride or in ride or after few minutes of ending of ride. Otherwise you can not call helpline. If by bad luck person runs out of mobile credit, you can only reach help line via “Registered Account Number” good luck finding that, otherwise go get yourself recharge then call the helpline but you can not as its not possible after few moments of ending ride. Customer service totally becoming pathetic, wish bykea could ramp-up its service availability.

  • Junaid sahib ka number chahiay meri id 03414193074 block ki hoi hy us ko rstote krwana chata ho lahore office sy koi response ni mila
