The National Incubation Center, Islamabad, has announced its 5th cohort of startups.
A new generation of 26 innovative startups working in diverse fields of Fin-Tech, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Ed-Tech,Health and Welfare, Agriculture, Augmented and Virtual reality and E-commerce, Big Data have been accepted for its fifth cohort.
Over 700 startups from across the country were considered with 120 making it to screening and interview stage. A lively deliberation panel including tech experts, lead mentors, industry veterans finally decided to select high growth stage start-ups this time.
Many of the start-up founders in the fifth cohort are led by women entrepreneurs and interestingly some of the founders’ hail from different areas of the country more specifically from Sialkot, Swabi, Waziristan, Charsadda and Mardan.
These start-ups went through intense and rigorous sessions of interviews with a high profile panel of judges. Selecting startups this time was challenging for the judges as great emphasis was placed on the uniqueness of ideas, use of ground breaking technology, scalable startups that have high potential to grow and create impact.
