Labour Day Holiday: Public Pays Tribute to the Hidden Gems Behind Our Economy

Labour Day is observed all across the globe on 1st May every year to pay tribute to the sacrifices of hard working workers. In line with the official notification by the Ministry of Interior, Wednesday will be a public holiday in Pakistan.

The notification for public holidays in Pakistan was issued by the Ministry of Interior earlier this year. All government offices, autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, private companies, public and private schools will remain closed on 1st May.

The Twitterati is paying tribute to the workers as well. Let’s have a look at what people are sharing on the microblogging platform.

Indeed.

A bitter truth.

  • Unfortunately, Tweeting and sharing on FB won’t solve the problems of the labours of this country. They need practical measures taken for them. How about pressuring labour contractors and companies to offer medical and accidental insurance?

  • most ridiculous holiday we have. period!
don’t agree, go out and see your labour working to earn today’s food
