With the announcement of P Smart Z, Huawei has also jumped into the pop-up selfie camera bandwagon. Last week, some renders of the pop-up camera phone were leaked of Huawei Y9 prime which looks like a variant of Huawei P Smart Z.
The design and hardware are similar to Huawei P Smart Z except we see an additional camera sensor at the back. The launch date is not yet confirmed however the leaked posters and images give away the specifications.
Just like Huawei P Smart Z, the phone has a two-tone glossy finish at the back with a triple sensor camera vertically arranged at the top left and a fingerprint sensor housed in the middle.
The phone features a 6.59-inch screen with a 91 percent screen to body ratio and Full HD+ (1080 x 2340) resolution.
Under the hood, the phone features octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F chipset paired with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB built-in memory. The memory is expandable up to 512 GB via an external memory card.
The phone runs on EMUI 9.0 flavored Android 9.0 Pie.
The phone features a triple sensor rear camera with a 16 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens that has a 120-degree FOV and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The selfie camera sits in the pop-up mechanism and is a single 16 MP snapper.
Y9 Prime 2019 runs on a 4000 mAh battery which comes with fast charging.
At this point, the phone seems like it will be priced below $300 but we cannot say anything until the price is officially revealed. The launch date is still under wraps.
