Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved a grant of Rs. 100 billion for ‘Kamyab Jawan Program.’
The hefty sum was okayed on Thursday during a meeting with Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar and the PM.
PM Khan acknowledged the role of the young in the development of the country and said that the program will create new opportunities for employment and youth empowerment.
“Millions of youth will benefit from it. The program will help them to fulfill their dreams,” said Usman Dar.
“Following the directives of the premier,” Dar said, “the program especially focuses on the development of youth.”
He said the program is ready to be launched and awaits final approval from the federal cabinet.
Some of the salient features of the development program are interest-free loans for start-up programs, internships for fresh graduates, economic empowerment, employment, and a green youth movement.
Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Programme will help meet the government’s target of creating 1 million jobs through the SME sector as approved by the premier under the National Financial Inclusion Strategy.
