KP Govt Launches Emergency Alert App in Light of Recent Incidents

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has launched a Mobile application that guides the user on how to deal with natural disasters or calamities.

The app called ‘Emergency Alert PDMA KP’ contains information on natural disasters, warnings, event maps, relief activities, and road blockage.

Other than that, it also updates users about weather alerts, rain forecasts, floods, and river flow reports.

The new app has come just a day after five people lost their lives and 18 sustained injuries in various rain-related incidents in the province.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the casualties happened in Peshawar, Swabi, Bannu, and other areas of KP. The injured/deceased were shifted to nearby hospitals.

In a similar development, several cars were destroyed in a landslide in Kaghan the other day. No lives were lost in the accident.

This application will help reduce casualties in such incidents as people will have information about storms and floods beforehand.
