Saeed Ajmal Interested in Becoming Pakistan’s Bowling Coach

Former Pakistan off-spin bowler Saeed Ajmal has expressed his desire to become the next bowling coach of Pakistan cricket team.

Talking to local media, the 41-year-old said that he wants to give back to Pakistan cricket and his experience can prove invaluable for the team in the longer run.

I want to serve Pakistan cricket by working as the team’s bowling coach. I have passed PCB and England’s Level Two coaching course, while I will take part in Level Three course in April next year. Also I’m coaching more than 200 young cricketers in my academy.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already mentioned that they would welcome the idea of appointing local former cricketers who can add value to the team and improve their performances.

Saeed Ajmal also agreed with a number of people and claimed that Babar Azam is the right person to lead Pakistan in Test matches and ODIs.

I think Babar is the best choice for captaincy in Test and ODI format. Performance should be the only criteria when making a decision on who should be the captain of the side and Babar’s form has been exemplary in all formats of the game.

He also voiced his opinion regarding the recent news regarding Mohammad Amir retiring from Test cricket and said: ”Amir’s decision to retire from Test cricket is a major blow for the side and will hamper team’s performance.”
