Pakistan top-order batsman Babar Azam has become the leading run-scorer in the on-going campaign of the T20 Blast.
Babar topped the run-scorer list after playing a splendid inning of 83 runs for Somerset against Sussex. This was his second consecutive half-century as he previously scored 95 against Hampshire.
In the opening four fixtures, Babar has amassed 220 runs at an average of 73.33. He has hit 24 boundaries and 5 sixes thus far.
Babar has often been criticized for his lack of aggression but it seems that he is enjoying the responsibility of being the main man for Somerset.
In addition to scoring runs, Babar has been scoring them quickly too. He has a strike-rate of 154.92, which is beyond remarkable for a player who’s not a specialized T20 player.
Behind him, in the list, are Dawid Malan and Scott Steel with 211 and 178 runs respectively.
