Xiaomi is Launching Redmi Note 8 Pro Next Week With 64MP Quad Cameras

A few weeks ago, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi teased a smartphone with a 64 MP camera. Even though the teaser was making headlines, nobody knew what phone Redmi was specifically talking about. The company has now shared a poster on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo which confirms a few details that everyone was waiting for.

Turns out, the 64 MP camera smartphone is the Redmi Note 8 Pro that will be launched on the 29th of August alongside the regular Note 8 and Redmi’s new Smart TV series. The teaser shows a quad-sensor rear camera (confirming previous leaks) where three sensors are aligned vertically in the center and the fourth lens is placed on the right.

The image also reveals that the Note 8 Pro will not come with an in-display fingerprint sensor instead of a capacitive sensor that’s usually mounted below the camera.

That is all we know for now. Specifications and pricing will be revealed next week so stay tuned for that.
