Huami, one of Xiaomi’s subsidiaries, is among the largest wearable manufacturing companies with a 17 percent market share. The company, at a recent event in China, announced the Amazfit GTS and Amazfit Smart Sports Watch 3 and teased the Amazfit X Concept Watch.
While the Amazfit Smart Sports Watch 3 follows the typical Huami smartwatch design, the Amazfit GTS is a photocopy of Apple Watch Series 4.
Amazfit GTS
This watch looks like a blatant copy of the Apple Watch Series 4. From the long and wide watch face to the solid colored straps, it looks too similar to be counted as a coincidence.
Amazfit GTS comes with a 1.65-inch AMOLED display, featuring 348 x 442 pixels resolution and 341 ppi pixel density. The watch comes in 6 different band colors with an aluminum body.
It is made to be watersports friendly, hence, it can resist water up to 50m deep. Its 220 mAh battery can last up to 14 days but with constant GPS usage, the battery life falls to 25 hours.
Like all other Huami smartwatches, this one also features NFC and Bluetooth 5.0 LE connectivity along with an optical heart rate tracker, a barometer, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and compass.
The watch is currently available for pre-booking in China at $125.
Amazfit Smart Sports Watch 3
Featuring the typical Huami smartwatch design, this device comes with a 1.34-inch display with 320 x 320 pixels resolution and tempered glass protection.
The body of this watch is constructed using 316L steel and the silicon straps can be swapped. Just like the Amazfit GTS, this one also comes with 5ATM i.e. 50m deep water endurance.
Despite a 300 mAh battery Amazfit Smart Sports Watch 3 has a battery life of 7 days which can be increased to 14 days using ultra-mode which offers limited connectivity.
Amazfit Smart Sports Watch 3 is specifically designed for people on the go and can provide a battery life of 70 hours with constant GPS usage. It can also be used for playing offline music over Bluetooth headphones thanks to the 1.9 GB user space available. The watch can be pre-ordered in China for $180.
It also comes in a pricier elite version which has titanium bezels on the steel body and sapphire crystal glass instead of the tempered glass. This version is also available for booking at $237.
Amazfit X
This one was only teased at the event since it is still in the prototype phase. However, the company has revealed that the watch will feature a 2.07-inch AMOLED display with a 220 mAh battery.
