Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced its team for the upcoming ODI and T20I series in Pakistan. Left-handed batsman, Lahiru Thirimanne will lead the ODI team while all-rounder Dasun Shanaka will captain the T20I squad.
The second-string team has been announced keeping in view that 10 top Sri Lankan cricketers opted out of Pakistan tour due to different reasons, especially the security situation in the country.
Here is the ODI squad:
Lahiru Thirminanne (C), Danushka Gunathilaka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Avishka Fernando, Oshada Fenando, Shehan Jayasuria, Dasun Shanaka, Mindo Bhanuka, Angelo Perera, Wanindu Hasaranga, Lakshan Sandakan, Nuwan Pradeep, Isuru Udana, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara.

The T2oI squad stacks up as follows:
Dasun Shanaka (C), Danushka Gunathilaka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Avishka Fernando, Oshada Fenando, Shehan Jayasuria, Mindo Bhanuka, Angelo Perera, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Lahiru Madushanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Lakshan Sandakan, Nuwan Pradeep, Isuru Udana, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara.

The series starts in Karachi from 27th September and will end in Lahore on 9th October.

They must be really desperate to risk their lives playing in Pakistan. Especially after what happened in 2009 in Lahore and the most recent islamic extremist attack in Colombo.

Their prime minister’s office has warned them against playing in Pakistan. There’s intelligence that they will be targeted by our ISI bred strategic assets. So I’m guessing even this second string team will stay away.
