NHA Launches Paid Internship Program With Guaranteed Jobs for 12,000 Youngsters

National Highway Authority (NHA), in line with directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched an internship program aimed at imparting training to educated youth in different sectors of the construction industry.

During the first year of the program, as many as 12,000 students will be imparted training in both paid and non-paid categories.

The internship will be offered to students from the following fields:

  • Civil Engineering,
  • Material Engineering,
  • AutoCad Operator,
  • Lab Technician,
  • Environmental and Safeguard Trainee

Under first phase of the program, there will be one-month non-paid internships. The second phase will consist of three-month paid training with value experience guaranteeing a job offer.

The program will also be applicable to the students studying in the last year of their degree or diploma.

After completion of the training, all NHA firms, consultants and contractors will be bound to hire technically qualified interns for at least 12 months.

The students will be engaged in NHA’s 40 projects carried out under the Public Sector Development Programme 2019-20.

It must be mentioned here that Minister for Communications and Postal Services, Murad Saeed, has also announced an internship program under Pakistan Post that will train 35,000 youngsters between the age of 20-30 years.
