Punjab Govt to Replace Patwaris With Village Officers

Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has ordered to rename the post of “Patwari” to “Village Officer”.

A Patwari is a revenue officer who maintains data of land ownership and deals with the collection of land taxes of a specific area.

Punjab Public Service Commission will be tasked with the recruitment of new village officers all over Punjab. The newly inducted village officers will be posted at BPS-14.

Moreover, to facilitate the citizens of Punjab, CM Buzdar has ordered to set up 115 new land record centers in distant areas of the province within a month.

One out of the five tehsils of Lahore district will be transformed into a “Model Tehsil” for revenue collection, said Buzdar.
