Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq Break 47-Year-Old Record

The prolific batting duo of Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq have broken a 47-year-old record for the highest partnership for any wicket for Pakistan in Australia in first-class cricket.

Pakistan finished the day on 336 for 3 and Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq remained unbeaten on 157 and 119 runs respectively.

Both players looked in great touch, which is a positive sign for Pakistan ahead of their two-match Test series against Australia.

Babar and Asad accumulated 276 runs after day one and beat the previous record of 233 runs, which was managed by Talat Ali and Majid Khan in 1972 against Queensland.
