Yuantong Airlines Starts Weekly Kashgar-Karachi Cargo Route

After successfully launching Kunming-Karachi Air Cargo Route in September, Yountong Airlines has now started regular cargo service between China’s Xinjiang Kashgar and Karachi.

The first cargo plane loaded with 9.25 tons of goods, including chilled marine products, landed at Kashgar Airport today.

The said route is the first international regular cargo route between Karachi and Kashgar, and the sixth international full cargo flight route by Xinjiang Airport Group this year.

The Kashgar-Karachi freight route offers special subsidies to charter operators. The Xinjiang Zhonghe Airport Logistics Company approved the route in October this year.

If Karachi, is an industrial, trade, and financial hub, for Pakistan, Kashgar Airport has been termed as key aviation fulcrum for the Belt and Road economy.

Therefore, the newly launched freight route has significance in terms of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as it will be an efficient and convenient logistics channel for trade exchanges between the two countries.
