The myth that Fawad Alam is not suited for international cricket has taken yet another blow as the left-handed batsman crosses the 13,000 runs milestone in First-Class cricket.
Fawad Alam reached this feat in the ongoing match against Southern Punjab in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QeA).
Southern Punjab batted first and put 517 runs on the board. Struggling at 34-3, Fawad Alam stepped in and built a partnership with Saad Ali and then Sarfaraz Ahmed to take Sindh out of trouble.
This is Alam’s third century of the season and has accumulated 540 runs in the QeA Trophy thus far.
Despite being one of the most consistent performers in the domestic circuit, Fawad Alam still has not been selected for the Pakistan international team while the likes of Iftikhar Ahmed are touring with the national side.
The fans remain vocal about the injustice against Fawad Alam, including prominent personalities such as Dr. Nauman Niaz.

Despite of all his weaknesses he proved him far superior than all other true and well built Pakis ! in domestic cricket. In fact misbah and co are worried how can they stay away from national team if he performs in international cricket.
Yep….but others who are selected find it hard to reach even 15 runs on foreign wickets. So may be we need someone who can play 200 balls…the Australian team selection criteria.
He should move to Lahore and start speaking punjabi then maybe he had a chance.

Fawad will never get a chance under Misbah’s tenure as selector & Chief Coach. Misbah’s has his own liking and dislikings, time will tell when the Pakistan Team will come down in Test, ODI & T/20 Rankings under Misbah’s coaching and as Selector.
there is difference in national and international standard lot of players like asif ali etc cannot perform on international level and he cant make a 6 even being the specialist batsman.
Misbah-ul-Haq and Co are afraid that if given a chance, Fawad would score and then it would be double difficult to throw him out. Team Management compromises effectiveness for perception. To them Haris, Imam and Iftikhar are great players wherein Fawad’s grit and commitment holds no value.
