Police Arrest Man for Blackmailing Girls with Edited Pictures and Videos

Dera Ghazi Khan Police officials have apprehended a man for blackmailing girls using fake social media accounts.

According to SHO Police Station Civil Lines, Iftikhar Ahmad Malikani, the accused used to add girls to his fake social media accounts. Once befriended, the accused edited pictures and videos of the girls to blackmail and extort money from them.

Iftikhar Ahmad Malikani said that he accused was wanted in numerous complaints of the same nature for more than two years. The police tracked down the man through social media and call detail records (CDR) and took him into their custody from Islamabad.

Police confiscated four smartphones, ATM cards, two passports, and two pistols from the possession of the man. Thousands of obscene pictures and videos of numerous girls were recovered from the smartphones as well.

Surprisingly, during the media interaction, the accused denied all the charges leveled against him. He pleaded his innocence and claimed that the charges were fabricated.

The first case against the man was registered in 2017 by a girl that accused him of blackmailing, extorting money by posting her fake explicit pictures and videos on various social media platforms.
