King of Saudi Arabia, Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, has issued a royal decree announcing to grant Saudi nationality to brilliant foreign professionals. The step intends to attract bright minds from all over the world.
The move is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, a plan to reduce Saudi Arabia’s dependence on oil and diversify its economy by developing public service sectors.
According to the royal decree, competent professionals from certain disciplines will be granted Saudi nationality:
- Nuclear and renewable energy,
- Computer science,
- Medicine,
- Pharmacology,
- Ecology,
- Artificial intelligence,
- Robotics,
- Aviation,
- Sports and Arts,
- Astronautics,
- Culture
Islamic scholars will be awarded the nationality as well. Given the geographical location of Saudi Arabia, professionals having expertise in desalination technology can get Saudi nationality.
