Early Buyers Report Popping Noises & Display Ghosting in New Macbook Pro Units

The latest Apple MacBook Pro was officially launched last month with beastly specifications and a gorgeous display larger than previous iterations.

Although the pricey hardware is impressive in terms of looks and performance, it turns out that it’s not free of problems. Several owners have reported issues such as display ghosting and audio popping through the speakers.

History seems to be repeating itself, since, as you might recall, similar issues were reported with the MacBook Pro 2018, 17, and 16,  where users complained about clicking noises through the speakers. It reportedly plagued both 13-inch and 15-inch models.

With the latest models, the issue occurs when audio playback is paused, skipped to another part, or the media app is closed. This is often followed up by the speakers producing a strange popping and clicking noise (which can vary in volume).

There doesn’t seem to be any real root cause or a solid workaround for this problem as of yet.

As for display ghosting, it is an issue that usually stems from low response time on displays and can often be seen clearly while scrolling through text.

The Apple support team has responded to some users specifically, saying that they are aware of the issue and are working on it. But officially, Apple has yet to comment on the issue.
