PIA Reschedules Its Flights for the Fifth Consecutive Day

Prevalent fog, smog and cloudy conditions in parts of Punjab have forced Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to change its flight schedule once again.

PIA has been rescheduling flights since Sunday, and a number of PIA’s domestic and international flights were also rescheduled or canceled on Wednesday due to unsuitable aviation conditions.

As per details, two-way flights between Karachi and Faisalabad, PK-340 and PK-341, were postponed while the Abu Dhabi-Lahore bound flight PK-264 and the one coming to Lahore from London, PK-758, were also canceled. Moreover, the flights PK-223 and PK-224 between Faisalabad and Dubai were delayed by several hours.

The flight operation at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport resumed only after the fog decreased Thursday morning.

As visibility increased, several international airlines were allowed to use the airport. The first flight to take off from Lahore airport on Thursday morning was a Lahore-Urumqi flight CZ-6017, while a flight SV-734, coming from Jeddah, also landed after a delay of five hours.

PIA spokesperson has said that dense fog and low visibility is causing the delay. He has asked passengers to register their numbers with the tickets section to receive updates on revised schedules.
