With the new numbers, the AJK tally has risen to 9 so far.

PIA mulls partial resumption of international flights from tomorrow

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is mulling a partial resumption of international flight operations starting tomorrow. National Security Committee (NSC) and Foreign Office are expected to give formal approval to national flag carrier today.

Following a sharp increase in the Coronavirus cases, PIA had decided to suspend international flights till March 28.

HEC to inspect the quality of online classes

In response to a number of complaints regarding online classes in some universities, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has asked for detailed information on the courses in order to inspect the quality of the content, delivery, and connectivity.

This was stated by HEC Chairman, Tariq Banuri. He said that if a university is found unable to deliver good quality online lectures, they will be directed to halt such lectures until the requisite conditions are met.

Murree Brewery wants to manufacture hand sanitizers instead of alcohol

Pakistan’s most prominent manufacturer of alcoholic products, Murree Brewery, has asked for permission from the Government of Punjab to manufacture alcohol-based hand sanitizers in order to meet the demand of the consumers who are eager to protect themselves against coronavirus pandemic.

In his letter, the Chief Executive of Murree Brewery Company Isphanyar M Bhandara requested the Punjab Director General of Excise and Taxation to give permission to his company to manufacture/sell alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

A 50-year-old coronavirus patient in Rawalpindi with a recent history of travel to the UK has lost the battle against the virus.

The death was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner Anwarul Haq who said that the patient’s results came positive today after he died last night.

DI Khan reports first two cases

Dera Ismail (DI) Khan on Wednesday reported the city’s first two coronavirus cases as the pandemic firms its grip on the country.

The confirmation was made by the city’s district administration. The two patients – brother and sister – do not have a travel history and as many as 12 of the people who recently came into contact with them have been put under quarantine.
