The federal and provincial education ministries are considering a newly proposed average marking system for the students of secondary school certificate (SSC) ad higher secondary school certificate (HSSC).
The proposal was put forward during a meeting among education ministries, and all board secretaries, headed by the federal minister, Shafqat Mehmood.
The formula suggests the promotion criteria of students based on their previous details. It is under consideration and likely to be implemented after a final approval on Friday.
Here is what the proposed formula for average marking:
SSC-IIÂ (10th class)
For the students of SSC part-2, average marks for the 10th class will be calculated by adding marks obtained in the 9th class to (marks obtained in 9th ÷ total marks X 10).
HSSC-II (Second Year)
In order to calculate average marks for 12th class, marks scored in the 11th class will be added to (marks obtained in 11th ÷ total marks X 10).
SSC-I (9th Class)
The proposal also suggests to skip the 9th class this year and conduct 10th class exams in 2021, while average marks for SSC-I be calculated under the given formula: Marks obtained in matric be added to (marks obtained in 10th ÷ total marks X 10).
HSSC-I (First Year)
The proposal floats that the 11th class exam should not be taken this year and the exam for the second-year be taken next year. To calculate marks for the 11th, obtained marks for 11th be added to (marks obtained in 11th ÷ total marks X 10).
Another proposal came under discussion which suggests skipping examinations in 2020 and conducting composite exams the next year.
For Improvement Cases
Improvement students have been given a slight edge in the average marking. Their average marks would be calculated by this formula:
Marks obtained to be added to (marks obtained in 9th or 11th ÷ total marks X 20).
For Failed Papers
Average marks for each subject paper to be obtained by (marks obtained in 9th or 11th ÷ total marks X 15).

This should also be implemented for university giving current semester students grades based on grades of their past subjects.
Universities can’t do that! Graduation degrees are different and each subject is different from the previous one. And some subjects are prerequisites for the next semesters.

Please give an example, I am not getting this formula right… For Example a Student who had obtained 472 marks in 9th. What will be his final marks?
Total 9th = 505
Total 10th = 1100
472+(472/505×10)
472+9=481/505 in matric
472+481= 953/1010
1037/1100

There is a very easy option…. Only conduct 100% admission entry test for class 12 to get admission in respective university which should be based on MCQs with proper distance withOUT including 1st year and 2nd year percentage…..so every student give their best for test .

This is wrong… Thank you very much for this proposed formula but we are not satisfied… I have calculated my grades n it seems that i have wasted a year complete year for ONLY 18 extra marks…. I believe i can aim way much higher in my improvement exams as compared to the provided aid… Cmon we have to appear for MCAT… What will we do with this useless (18) marks…. It is much much better n preferred among students to allow us to appear for exams…. Better late than cancelation… Plus this is the only left chance for us to go for improvement exams which will escape us due to this decision of cancelation of the board exams.

Does the number of practical exam are also added in the number obtained by that formula or not? Like the matric total number of both parts are 1010.But if we add practical exam marks then they are 1100.

Fake totally fake formula
We are not satisfied with the marks calculation formula For the students of SSC-ll. We should be given marks on the basis of percentage of 9th..i.e if it is 90%, the we should be given 90% of marks in 10th.
This is totally wrong formula . The kids should be given marks in next grade as per previous exam percentage . If a kid got 90% in SSC_1 he should be 95 % in SSC_11 to get benifit those students who were trying for improvinag their marks and similarly in other classes .

It is totally hilarious if s student got 428 marks and he is struggling hard to achieve good grades and then in pre board examination taken by the school he scored 480 marks and still struggling hard for the better result and then this happens.it disgust me alot. ??????????

The thing is that don’t criticize the formula and pray for it to be better for you. Because, the formula can change as you want it to but what is decided by Allah can’t be changed. Moreover, think for yourself that what would you do when you are the prime minister, it will be really difficult to handle such a mess and confusion in our country. The decision is still not taken, don’t give negative responses instead pray to Allah because the real decision will not be Imran Khan’s or our ministers but only Allah! So pray for your betterment!
It is injustice.we did much struggle in 10th and want to improve ourself and our marks in 10th.
The formula suggested for the calculation of marks for ssc2 is wrong the decision should be taken accordingly with the percentage of a student in ssc1 and should be given the same percentage in ssc2 and the marks should be calculated according to the percentage in ssc2
