Committee Formed to Evaluate Quality of Education in University Sub-Campuses

Governor Punjab and Chancellor of Punjab’s Universities, Chaudhry Sarwar, has formed a 5 member committee led by Vice-Chancellor Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, to evaluate the quality of education and facilities accorded to students in the sub-campuses of private universities.

Vice-Chancellor Government College University, Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi, Vice-Chancellor Lahore College for Women University, Dr. Bushra, Special Secretary Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), Dr. Raheel Siddiqui, and Director Planning and Division PHEC, Noman Maqbool Rao are the other members of the special committee.

According to details, the committee will carry out a comprehensive inquiry of different issues of private universities and furnish its report to Governor Punjab within two months.

Governor Punjab lamented that private universities have failed to ensure the provision of facilities and maintain the quality of education in their sub-campuses in line with the guidelines laid down by the HEC.

He said that students are the future of Pakistan and pledged to take stern action against universities breaching HEC’s guidelines.

Punjab government will not tolerate any dereliction on part of private universities in ensuring necessary facilities and maintaining a high quality of education in sub-campuses across Punjab, said the Governor.
