Lenovo Launches New Legion Gaming Laptops Starting at $1000

After teasing the laptops for a few days, the Hong Kong-based OEM Lenovo has launched three new Legion gaming laptops with impressive specifications and aggressive pricing. The laptops are currently up for orders on the Lenovo online store and will be available for sale on offline and retail stores in the upcoming months.

Lenovo Legion 5i

Lenovo Legion 5i is the cheapest of the lot. It comes with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS LCD panel with up to 144HZ refresh rate, 100% sRGB color gamut, and 300 nits of maximum brightness. Design-wise, the laptop has a typical Lenovo Legion laptop-like aesthetic.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core i7-10750H processor paired with up to 6GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 GPU, up to 16GB 2,933Hz DDR4 RAM and up to either 1TB PCIe SSD or 1TB 7,200RPM HDD storage.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the Lenovo Legion 5i supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. Apart from this, the laptop comes with 4 x USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1, 1 x USB Type-C 3.1 with DisplayPort, 1 x HDMI 2.0, 1 x RJ45, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

To improve the gaming experience, Legion 5i is equipped with two 2W Harman Kardon speakers and a reasonable 80 Whr battery that will last around 7.7 hours on a single charge.

The laptop retails at $1,072 and is currently up for orders on Lenovo’s website.

Lenovo Legion 5Pi

The second device of the lot, Lenovo Legion 5Pi, comes at a starting price of $1,810. Although it shares its entire spec sheet with the Legion 5i, the laptop’s base model comes with a higher RAM and storage. Hence, the higher retail price.

Unlike the Legion 5i, the Legion 5Pi comes in an Iron Grey color. The laptop will be available for sale next month.

Lenovo Legion 7i

Crossing the two thousand retail price mark, Lenovo Legion 7i is the most expensive laptop launched by Lenovo yesterday. Although design-wise the laptop is similar to the other two, it comes with higher specifications under the hood.

Legion 7i features a 15.6-inch FHD IPS LCD screen with up to 100% sRGB color gamut, 500nits of peak brightness, and 144Hz refresh rate.

Internally, it is powered by up to 10th generation Intel Core i9 H series processor accompanied by up to 32GB 2,933MHz DDR4 RAM, 8GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2080 SUPER Max-Q GPU, and up to 1TB PCIe SSD.
