Here’s What We Think About OnePlus Nord & How You Can Buy One in Pakistan [Video]

Chinese phone maker OnePlus, known for its “flagship killer” smartphones, has finally launched the OnePlus Nord in Pakistan, one of the most awaited smartphones of the year. Nord is the company’s first serious attempt at a mid-range smartphone after OnePlus X.

Despite being launched at a price much lower than the recently launched OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, the mid-ranger borrows a couple of features from the flagship killers.

Here’s ProPakistani’s first impression of the smartphone. Also, if you’re interested in buying the phone, the video details the official method of purchasing OnePlus smartphones in Pakistan.

On to unboxing the phone, the box comes with a clear case for the smartphone, some paperwork, a sim ejection tool, and a 30W charger.

Design and Display

Even though the smartphone comes as an alternative to a more expensive OnePlus smartphone, it still has an attractive design and a premium feel to it. OnePlus Nord features a glass back like the OnePlus 8 Pro with a quad-sensor rear camera on the left.

It’s built around a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio, 408 PPI pixel density, 86.7% screen-to-body ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate. Same resolution as most premium mid-range phones but with the added bonus of a high refresh rate, something of a rarity in this category. The fingerprint sensor is mounted under the display as well.

Overall, the screen provides a high-end and immersive viewing experience with vibrant colors and a good brightness profile.

Cameras and Performance

The handset comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC under the hood with two memory options: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB onboard storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. It boots OxygenOS 10.0 flavored Android 10.

Moving on to the cameras, OnePlus Nord comes with a quad-sensor camera setup at the back featuring a 48 MP primary, an 8 MP ultrawide, a 2 MP macro, and a 5 MP depth sensor. On the front, it features a 32 MP snapper accompanied by an 8 MP shooter with a 105-degree field of view.

The whole package is fueled by a 4115 mAh battery, which is only a tad smaller than the 4,300mAh battery found in OnePlus 8. According to the company, the phone charges up to 70 percent in just 30 minutes with the accompanying fast charger.

Availability

If you are interested in procuring the official global variant of the handset in Pakistan, head to RockMobile’s website. The 8GB/128GB variant will cost around PKR 90,000.
