Breakdancing is among the four new sports that have been inducted in Olympics. Surfing, skateboarding and sports climbing will be a part of 2020 Tokyo Olympics, whereas Breakdancing will make its debut in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

2020 Tokyo Olympics were postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, they have been scheduled for next year.
Paris 2024 organizing committee had proposed these four sports to be included and were waiting for the approval by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). All four sports have been approved by the board and will be a part of the Olympics officially.
According to new IOC rules, the host country can propose the inclusion of four sports according to popularity in their country in order to garner the interest of the fans and engage the youth in the sports.
Surfing, skateboarding and sports climbing were proposed by Tokyo organizing committee due to the surging popularity of the sport in Japan.

There has been a strong case of cricket being part of the Olympics as it is one of the most popular sports in the world, but the sport hasn’t been made a part of the games. The only time cricket was played at the Olympics was way back in Paris 1900 Olympics. Great Britain won the gold medal.
The overall number of games to be played at Paris 2024 will be 329, 10 less than that of Tokyo Olympics. The number of mixed-gender sports has been increased from 18 to 22 in order to promote gender equality as well.
