Govt to Reconstruct Vandalized Hindu Temple in KP

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to reconstruct a Hindu temple that was set ablaze and vandalized by a mob in the Teri area of the district of Karak last Wednesday.

In an official statement issued on Friday, the provincial Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan directed the concerned authorities to restore the Samadhi of Shri Param Hans Ji Maharaj.

The Karak Hindu temple was burned by a mob comprising youngsters, elders, and children, drawing criticism from human rights activists and religious minorities.

The head of the one-man Commission on Minorities Rights Dr. Shoaib Suddle met the CM in the presence of the PTI minority MNA Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani and the Provincial Chief Secretary Dr. Kazim Niaz to discuss the matter.

The CM said that the attack on the temple is highly condemnable and that government has arrested several people for the desecration.

While affirming that the culprits will be brought to justice, the CM said that his government will assure the protection of the holy places of the minorities and that nobody will be allowed to take the law into their hands.

Dr. Shoaib and MNA Ramesh expressed their satisfaction with the assurances given by the Government of KP.
