PCB Looking to Replace Misbah with a Foreign Coach: Reports

According to sources, the PCB Cricketing Committee has tasked a core member with finding a top foreign coach for the national team. The current team management has been under fire recently, and it looks like the poor performance of the team in New Zealand will be the final nail in the coffin for the former cricketer.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was already skeptical of Pakistan’s recent performances. However, the dismal tour of New Zealand has made it clear to the top PCB officials that the current team management has not performed up to the required standards.

PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, will hold a separate meeting with the head coach, Misbah-ul-Haq, bowling coach, Waqar Younis, and batting coach, Younis Khan, once the team returns from New Zealand. It is believed that PCB’s patience with the current management has run out, and a detailed discussion regarding the tour of New Zealand will be held.

PCB has already asked the team manager, Mansoor Rana, to submit a detailed report of the tour.

The new Chairman of the PCB Cricket Committee, Saleem Yousuf, will also chair a meeting with Misbah-ul-Haq. The meeting will also include other members of the committee, Wasim Akram, Urooj Mumtaz, Ali Naqvi, and Umar Gul. The meeting will review Pakistan’s performances over the past year.

The Cricket Committee will send its recommendations to Ehsan Mani, and the decision on the future of the current management will be made.

Pakistan’s performances in 2020 have been underwhelming. After a bright start to the year with a series win against Bangladesh, Pakistan lost the plot. Pakistan lost the Test series to England, lost an ODI against Zimbabwe, and lost the T20I and Test series against New Zealand.
