Shoaib Akhtar Slams PCB For Sending School-Level Pakistan Team to NZ

Shoaib Akhtar has lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the below-average performances of the Pakistan cricket team against New Zealand in the ongoing Test series.

Speaking at PTV Sports, Shoaib held the cricket board responsible for ‘turning the national side into a school-level team.’

PCB is reaping what it sowed. If they continue to put average people on key posts, and select average players in the team, the results won’t be any different either.

Expressing his disappointment on Pakistan’s performance during the Christchurch Test against the Kiwis, Akhtar said that the national team was playing school level cricket.

“Disappointed. So disappointed. Club level teams would perform better than this. They will be exposed every time they play Test cricket,” Akhtar commented on the Pakistan team during the second Test.

On a green-top wicket, the Green Shirts could only manage 6 wickets in two days and conceded over 650 runs, the 4th highest total ever against Pakistan in Test cricket. The team dropped more catches (7) than they took (5) during the first New Zealand inning. They also conceded the highest-ever 4th wicket partnership of 369 runs and 64 extras in an innings.

The former cricketer also revealed that the cricket board is considering changing the management once again, which according to him was a cosmetic change to shift the blame.

“When will you change?” asked the fast-bowler from the hierarchy of the cricket board, terming them ‘paratroopers.’
