Carl Pei’s Nothing Will Launch its First TWS Earbuds Soon

Around two weeks ago, OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei launched his consumer technology company called ‘Nothing’. The new venture is backed by a list of well-known investors including iPod inventor Tony Fadell, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, and Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin. Apart from this, Alphabet’s VC capital investment arm Google Ventures (GV) has also backed the new company by allotting $15 million in funds.

Although Pei has confirmed that the company will work on audio-related consumer electronics, we are still confused why he had to leave OnePlus for it. The company has already launched its first pair of wireless earbuds and is working on launching more audio products with the OnePlus.

However, we might get our answer soon. Pei only recently confirmed that Nothing’s first wireless earphones will launch this summer. He is working on developing an ecosystem of devices that can connect to each other. As of now, the main focus of the company is audio products but with time its product portfolio will evolve.

Pei describes his company as “a new, forward-thinking consumer technology company”. Hence, we are excited to see what he has planned for ‘Nothing’. For now, he seems hesitant in sharing his plans and aspirations regarding the company.
