Karachi Has Recorded the Most COVID-19 Deaths in Pakistan to Date

Karachi has recorded the highest death toll overall from the coronavirus, while Punjab has contributed 55 percent to the national COVID-19 mortality rate.

According to the report shared by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), a total of 607,453 coronavirus cases have been reported in Pakistan, of which 13,537 patients have died, with the highest number of fatalities having been reported among patients between the ages of 61 and 70.

As per the report by the NCOC, the coronavirus has claimed the lives of over 3,836 people between the ages of 61 and 70, and of over 3,400 people between the ages of 51 and 61. An additional 2,400 patients between the ages of 71 and 80 have also died of the virus.

The lowest number of deaths due to COVID-19 have been recorded among children between the ages of one and ten.

The report also detailed that the highest number of deaths due to the coronavirus in the major cities were reported in Karachi, followed by Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar.
