Babar Azam Overtakes Rohit Sharma In Latest ICC ODI Rankings

The all-format skipper, Babar Azam, has officially overtaken Indian superstar, Rohit Sharma, in the latest top 10 ODI batsmen rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.

Updated numbers reveal that Babar now sits at second spot with 837 points, as compared to Sharma who sits a hair’s breadth below on number 3 with 836 points. Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, leads the rankings from the top with 868 points.

The Pakistani captain previously ranked third and moved up a spot after Rohit Sharma’s shambolic batting against England.

Meanwhile, England’s Jonny Bairstow made significant ground over David Warner, following the first ODI against India to move four places up to 7th. Bairstow has 775 points, while Warner sits two points below at 8th.

Proteas middle-order batsman, Faf du Plessis, sits at number 6 with 790 points, just a point below Australia’s top-order batsman, Aaron Finch, who occupies the 5th spot.
