Fawad Chaudhry Reveals How Many Pakistanis Will Get Free Vaccination

The Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry, has claimed that 98 percent of the population will get vaccinated free of charge.

While discussing the key statistics of the ongoing vaccination drives in various regions of Pakistan with the media, he revealed that people can now visit private hospitals for immediate inoculation.

In terms of the availability of the vaccines, the minister explained that the Chinese vaccine CanSino is available at the cost of Rs. 4,225 per dose, and added that the price of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V “cannot be determined at the moment, as the matter of setting its rate is currently underway in court”.

The government of Pakistan has updated the timings for vaccination centers, and Punjab’s Minister for Health, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, announced that the elderly can visit them on Sundays. She also affirmed that the government has stocked the vaccines in large quantities for urgent facilitation.

Currently, there are 126 COVID-19 vaccination centers in Punjab where an average of 20,000 elderly citizens are getting inoculated on a daily basis.
