The Commissioner of Lahore, Captain (retd.) Muhammad Usman has announced that the businesses found to be operating in violation of the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be sealed until 11 April.
He clarified that strict punishments will be awarded to everyone, and to shopkeepers, hotels, and restaurants in particular if they do not follow the coronavirus precautionary measures imposed by the government.

The commissioner has warned that the shops and businesses sealed for violation of the SOPs will not be allowed to operate even after the lockdown ends, and has directed all the deputy commissioners to give even stricter punishments to the violators.
“By not being careful, these people are putting the lives of others at risk,” he added.
The police registered 525 cases against locals for not wearing masks in the provincial capital, and 548 cases for violation of the SOPs on Sunday.

Additionally, 26 shops, restaurants, and wedding halls have been seized, and an FIR has been registered against the owners of the halls.
