Volunteers to Assist Police in Enforcing COVID-19 SOPs This Ramadan

The Rawalpindi police have decided to deploy more volunteers than policemen during the holy month of Ramadan for the first time ever, and over 6,000 volunteers will work with 1,200 policemen to maintain law and order in the city.

Police Elite Commandos will ensure the security of sensitive mosques and imam bargahs. For this purpose, a control room has been established at the office of the City Police Officer (CPO) for effective coordination between the police and the security agencies.

Ministry of Education Launches Initiative for Blended E-Learning


The CPO has appointed the SPs of Rawal Town, Pothohar, and Saddar as Security Supervisors to ensure the attendance and timely presence of police personnel and volunteers at their designated areas.

The volunteers will inspect the entrants to the worship sites, and armed police personnel will be stationed on the roofs of vulnerable mosques during the Fajr and Taraweeh prayers.

Additionally, police mobiles, including the elite force will patrol Rawalpindi.

The police officials said that the clerics and peace committee members will be briefed regarding the implementation of precautionary guidelines and the enforcement of the COVID-19 SOPs.
