Water Supply in Twin Cities Might Get Suspended

The drinking water supply in the twin cities is feared to be suspended after the water level in Khanpur dam fell to dangerous levels.

According to the Khanpur dam officials, the water level of the reservoir was recorded 1,928 feet today while the dead level of the lake is 1,910 feet which means that the water level is only 18 feet above the dead level.

The twin cities can be supplied water for a few more days, however, if the situation continues to aggravate, drinking water may be suspended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The water inflow in the dam was recorded 84 cusecs feet while the outflow was 194 cusec feet.

Similarly, due to scorching heat all across Pakistan, the water inflow in Tarbela Dam reduced and was recorded at 109,700 cusecs feet while the outflow was 132,300 while the water level of the reservoir was 1,434.23 feet.
