Riaz said that experienced players play an important role in major events and many cricketing nations around the world rely on experience to take them over the line in big pressure situations. He said that he is a match-winner and has always given 100 percent for his country.

“People say that I am not a match-winner. If I am not a match-winner, then why [did] the then coach, Mickey Arthur, select me for World Cup 2019?” Riaz questioned.

The 36-year old lashed out at his critics and said that he still has a lot of cricket in him and can fill the void of an experienced pacer in the squad.

The explosive pacer said that he is disappointed about being left out of the national team despite putting in some impressive performances. He added that he will keep on working hard and reclaim his position in the national squad.
