Veteran all-rounder, Mohammad Hafeez, revealed that he has no intention of retiring from cricket anytime soon. Hafeez said that he would continue to play as long as he is fit and can perform at the highest level.

Hafeez said that he pays special attention to his fitness levels. He said that despite being 40 years old, he is one of the fittest guys in the dressing room and can compete with the youngsters in the squad.
The middle-order batsman expressed his disappointment at his critics, who questioned his selection in the team due to his age. He said that the critics ignored his performances on the field and only focused on his age. He said that he has always given respect to the opinions of cricket fans, and they have the right to criticize his selection in the team based on his performances.

He added that his selection in the national team is justified because of his performances over the past year, not because of his age. Hafeez said that the only way he can win over the critics is by performing and playing match-winning knocks.
The 40-year old revealed that he aims to win the World Cup for Pakistan and has his sights set on the upcoming T20 World Cup in October. Hafeez said that he has had an illustrious career, but the only thing missing is being a part of a World Cup-winning team. He said that his aim before hanging up his boots is to play a crucial part in winning the World Cup for his country.
